EMDR INtensives

An EMDR Intensive follows the same 8-phase model used in traditional weekly EMDR therapy, but instead of spreading sessions out over weeks, the work is concentrated into a focused block of time. This allows clients to go deeper, stay with the process, and accelerate the healing power of EMDR—without the interruptions of a weekly start-and-stop rhythm.

At Abbott Mental Health we offer an EMDR Intensive Package that includes 5 hours of face-to-face care: an intake session, a 3-hour intensive, and a follow-up closure session. After the initial intensive, 3-hour sessions can be repeated as needed to continue deepening the work and support your healing goals.

WHY CHOOSE AN EMDR INTENSIVE?

Experience Rapid, Evidence-Based Relief:

Research shows that most people see a 60%-90% reduction in symptoms after EMDR treatment. In an intensive format, this relief is even more pronounced, helping you feel better faster (Butler & Ramsey-Wade, 2024).

Save Time and Money:

Traditional weekly therapy often spends much of the session on catching up or navigating life’s stressors, leaving only 20–30 minutes for actual EMDR processing. With an intensive, you can achieve in a single 3-hour session what might take months in weekly therapy—making it a cost-effective choice.

Flexible Scheduling for Your Life:

Balancing family, career, and travel can make regular weekly sessions challenging. EMDR intensives allow you to access high-quality, evidence-based treatment while fitting seamlessly into your busy life.

Trauma relief, safely:

Sometimes revisiting painful experiences weekly feels overwhelming or triggering, an EMDR intensive allows you to safely and effectively desensitize trauma in a single, focused session—helping you experience relief faster without the prolonged emotional strain.

Get Unstuck and Make Tangible Progress:

If you’ve been in therapy but feel stalled, an intensive can help you gain momentum and experience real symptom reduction, moving you closer to the life you want.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
